2025: A Year of Adversity

Now, I'm aware I've taken another 4-month hiatus, but there's a reason that I decided to, which will be discussed in this post.

We start in January 2025, when one of my family members ended up breaking his leg whilst abroad in Andorra with my family back home in the UK. This is where things go downhill, as he was hospitalised in Andorra for an extra week, heading into February 2025, returning to the UK amidst the Adaptive Games in Solihull, near Birmingham.

Between March and May, things plateaued before an unexpected familial death in late May 2025; with the funerary proceedings taking place in mid-September, before the September 2025 Adaptive Games in Northampton.

After September, things began to improve, with my family member being discharged from the hospital and being referred for medical physiotherapy for the remainder of the year.

October and November were fairly slow, with my 24th birthday passing by uneventfully and now we are nearing the end of this rather tumultuous year; I have metaphorically written this year off and am hoping 2026 will yield big things.

As I write this post, we are 24 hours away from New Year's Eve and 30-or-so hours from January 1st 2026, seeing off 2025 with a bang.

I'm going to see you all in mid-January 2026, as I'm taking a hiatus that will finish by around 15th January 2026*.

*Date not set in stone.

Happy New Year, and I'll see you on the other side.
