A New Avenue: Into the Filming behind We Are Alt Movement

E/N: I'm aware I've taken another 5-month hiatus without any posts here, but I'm certain I'll get back to a decent posting schedule eventually.

This year so far, as of September 2026, one of the biggest things I'd never expected to see was the premiere of the short film We Are Alt Movement at a private screening.

From early 2026, I'd thought that the only thing that would occur was my 1st place win in the February Adaptive Games, yet around the middle of the second quarter of the year, specifically June 30th, I'd gotten an opportunity to take part in something that seemed impossible had I not signed up for Alternative Movement in the first place; alongside two other parties who shall remain anonymous, with a message coming through from an affiliate at The Guardian newspaper who wanted to film a typical gym session, as well as to conduct a two-on-two interview, being myself and one family member, about how the gym has helped me over the preceding years.

After the newspaper had published the article, the premiere, taking place on Tuesday, September 8th, which at the time of writing was two days ago.

I feel immensely proud of myself for taking part in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show the world that disability isn't something to be scorned, but celebrated, as the film showed that, through different perspectives, regardless of adaptation, people like me can work towards things that would've seemed implausible.

I hope you enjoy reading this short post.

I'll see you on the other side.
