Moving Forward Amid Adversity: Solihull Adaptive Games 2025

After a five-month hiatus, the next Adaptive Games had come forward despite one slight setback. After two weeks, my dad returned from a skiing trip in Andorra with a broken tibia and fibula, which meant he was out of action for three months and on crutches. This situation required multiple adaptations to my routine, and one obvious thing was that he couldn't accompany and cheer me on at the event. Another aspect that occurred less than a month later was the unforeseen suicide of a cousin who was left unnamed for privacy reasons.

With those entwined situations deep in my mind, I partnered with a young man in the Solihull Adaptive Games and worked well with him before driving home that day.

Due to predetermined reservations from the venue owners, GymShark, the Games had a time limit—finish by 4:30 PM. This occurred as planned before getting home by 7:30 PM, three hours by car from home in Grays.

Looking forward to coming back to you soon.

I'll see you on the other side. :)
